Wel-Pac Fueru Wakame Dried Seaweed

Up your miso soup game by adding some dried wakame (seaweed) ! If you want to give your soup a savory oceanic taste, drop some dried seaweed into the broth. It'll rehydrate and have a fun, slippery texture. Plus, wakame is rich in nutrients like calcium, iodine, and niacin so it's healthy to boot! You can even sprinkle the seaweed on salads for a delicious crunch.

What Are The Different Types of Edible Seaweed, And How Do You Cook With Them?

While nori is a popular type of seaweed and is available in many forms, there are other edible varieties including nori, wakame, kombu, and hijiki. Nori is used to wrap sushi and onigiri rice balls and can be eaten on its own as a snack. Wakame is used in seaweed salads with a sweeter umami taste than nori and smoother texture. Kombu is sold in sheets and can be boiled to make dashi, or soup stock. Hijiki is often shredded and used to top rice and salads.
